| Thread started by: | "Does the pregnancy have growth spurts???" Posted by mrsxmoo 5 February at 14:37
Talk about being infuriated...I cant seem to find any info on the net about this.
Im at my 11th week and the past week my nausea has increased to the point of gagging, and Im one of those poor ... who got lumbered with the "fits & starts" type 247. So its more worse now then it has ever been, also Ive got increased period like pains/stretches/aches and a very uncomfortable bearing down feeling from the top of belly botton downwards, as if some one is literally pushing my wee bump down!...Does this make any sense to any one??? hence why Im hoping its a "growth spurt", and there's the "other" symptom too, of the wind and bottom troubles Ive been having..which thank the lord Im not the only poor soul whos appears to become eminencly talented in that department.
So ladies...does the timings and the symptoms make any sense or do the girls who have "been there, done that, got the t-shirt" know exactly what Im babbling on about?

Hi Mrs Moo
I was really sore from about 10 to 15 weeks with nasty stretching pains in my pelvis and abdomen. At some points I could barely sit down as it hurt so much. It did pass though.
As for the sickness, I wasn't too bad, but every time I thought it had passed - it came back again with a vengence. The last time I was sick was at 18 weeks. Not pleasant I'm afraid.
The wind is probably just due to your other organs moving out of the way to make space for your growing uterus. It should ease off as your pregnancy progresses.
Not much you can do about it I'm afraid. Frequent light snacks help with nausea and gentle exercise (walking/swimming) helped my growing pains.
Hope you feel better soon Kaz 37+4

Mine seened to do this I went from 3 weeks to around 9 weeks with morning sickness in morning then from 9 till 17 weeks with all day sickness with terile wind and really bad like period pains and also as though someone is pushing on my tummy, I had pribs with my stomach etc last week an basically dr said reason you get more windy etc is because everything is getting pushed up and doesnt really have much room dont know why this makes you more windy but hey lol my bump also seems to grow in spurts either that or I just dont notice it very much lol

I am now approaching 22 weeks and would say pregnancy definitely has its spurts, I went through a period of morning sickness/cramps, then felt great for couple of weeks, then came the insomnia which lasted 3 weeks and has now gone (hurrah) and had a couple of great weeks and now I am back to to having some cramps and heartburn from hell.
I fully expect next week I will be feeling great again - then I will hit 24 weeks and another symptom will hit me.
I also notice that my tummy grows in spurts - can literally not change for a week and then I wake up and I swear I must be another 3 inches bigger round the waist!!!
