hi ladies i woke on sat (2/2/08) morning at 7.30 with period type pains every 15 mins by 12.30 i phoned hosp and told them i was getting pains every 7 mins and when would i be best coming they said being my 4th come along to get checked so off we went to hosp
arrived at hosp at 1.20 midwife examined me and said i was 9cm dilated and yes i nearly fell of the bed cos never expected that as pains were still only mild and every 7 mins anyway was moved straight to delivery suite to have waters broken thats when pains started to come fast and stronger
at 3.20 baby luis was born after 2 pushes weighing 7lb 8 3/4 oz and loads of blonde hair
then at 4.30 midwife said i can go home arrived home at 5.20 just in time for hubby to watch the match
it was a truly remarkable day which still feels like a dream and baby luis is so content feeding and sleeping well and me just glad its all over

answers to a few of your questions
i was 40 + 5 weeks and yes my other 3 labours were pretty good but never as fast as luis and yes sorry letitia after pains were really bad id say worse than labour but i found nurofen plus helped and they only lasted for about 48 hrs i am not breast feeding so have got up this morning with boobs like jordan they look fab but are so sore
may i wish you all good luck in your pregnancies and hope you all have easy labours

i had heard that the after pains with number 4 were particularly nasty, so it hasn't come as too much of a shock, the after pains i had with my 3rd were worse than labour so i kinda know what to expect, i think im gonna stock up on some strong painkillers.

That must have been a shock to the system, but good that it wasnt a long one. Glad all went well and all is good.
