Hi im just wondering when will my midwife check to see if iv started to dialate? I read that it was 35/36 weeks....to be honest i didnt even know they checked on your weekly visits...just thought they did that at the hospital when in labour. Im going to be 34 weeks on friday so i was just wondering...and does it hurt? Cheers Brooke and 33 week girly bump x

Heya Brooke,
I am now 38 weeks and i have never been checked for dilation, i wasn't with any of my other pregnancies either.
I know they check for this in the US and I believe in Australia too, personally i think they should do the check here too.
I am actually going to ask my MW to check if i am dilating or even if anything is actually happening down there on Friday at my next appointment, i don't know if she will or not but im gonna ask anyway, i will let you know if she does.
much love and best wishes Leitia xx
