hi ladies

just wondering how much weight you have all gained. I was very very shocked yesterday to find out I have already gained 10KGs (I am only 23 weeks)

I would say I have put a small amount of weight on my bum and thighs and can get into all of my pre maternity trousers (with the waist band unfastened of course) and would say the rest is on my bump (which is very large) and boobs.

I am oly 5ft 2 and although not skinny I was slim pre pregnancy and a size 8/10 frame.

I am getting very worried about how big I am getting - so much so I have just bought myself an excercise bike.

I spoke to the doctor yesterday and she said my weight gain was healthy but my pregnancy book tells me the average to gain throughout pregnanct is 12 kg and well I am almost there already.

Anyone else turned into a heiffer?

xx

thanks for your replies, made me feel a lot better and also nice to know that actually my pregnany books aren't really giving an accurate weight gain at all.

Will relax a little now - I will also try to avoid the chocolate but how I love it at the moment

I was really worried too. I had put on 1 stone and a half by week 20, and i wasn't eating that badly. (by the way i am also having twins).

I have put on 2st 41bs so far (i am 32 weeks), which i think is not too much, but a few weeks back i had put on 2st 91bs-as my ankles were really swollen, and now they are ok, so i have lost a bit.

What i am trying to say (as i do tend to waffle!), is that you don't have too much control on weight gain in pg. My friend put on 4 st with a singleton pg and she really ate healthily and in my opinion not that much food!

I have always been a really weight conscious person but as i have felt pretty crap for a lot of my pg, i haven't worried and eaten when i want and generally what i want.

Just think when you have had the baby you can loose it and you will look fab, loads of people will tell you as well

Hi Jules

Before i fell pg, i weighed 11 1/2 stone, then thanks to morning sickness, i dropped to 10st, as this pregnancy has progressed, my weight has crept back up, and i now weigh 12 1/2st. but when you consider that most of the weight is on the bump and little one (at the later stage) weighs about 4-6lbs, and then you have the fluid, and then the placenta, i would not freak out to much, as long as you are eating healthy and not empty calories, (like we all love)

Sorry about the ramble,

Take care

My craving is cream cakes and chocolate and i have indulged!!! Pre-pregnancy i lost 4 stone and now i am at 35 weeks i have put on 3.5 stone (not sure what this is in kg) most has gone on my bump to bo honest a little on my bum and thighs. I had massive hang ups about this at first, i constantly weighed myself and worried about it til one day my husband gave me a hug and told me he loved me whatever!!

My theory is that you should just go with it and worry about loosing the weight later, at the end of the day if you diet when you give birth it will come off and you will have had a fantastic time for it!!!

hi jules,

I'm not really sure what 10Kg's are as i still work in stones.....but i have put on 3 stone so far, i would say though that my weight gain has really slowed down the last 6 weeks as i haven't been able to eat much due to indigestion, my bum is huge but not my bump!! I was a size 10 before hand but i'm now in primark size 18 trakky pants (chav pants only worn around the house haha!)

i wouldnt read too much into what those pregnancy books say to be honest, some woman only put on 2 stone some woman 5 stone!! as long as you are eating healthy!

take care
