oliver's sleeping is all over the show! obviously i dont expect him to sleep all the way thro at night or anything, but in the daytime, he will sleep for 3 or 4 hours at a time, but at night, i do well to get him to sleep for more than an hour at a time. i dont know what i am doing wrong, i feed, wind, change, cuddle etc just the same as i do in the day but he wont sleep for very long at all.
im subsequently shattered - i am breastfeeding so i have to get up to do it, besides, hubby obviously has to get up for work anyway - and i keep biting rob's head off and being a complete moody b***h.
do all babies do this or is it just my little man that has decided he is nocturnal?!
love to all mums bumps and babies kelly and 11 day old oliver xx

my amber was the same lol
she slept, more through the day than she did at night, bless her & i was shattered, its tough work and is exhausting , but it will get better, trust me.
you arnt doing anything wrong, just how babies are.
best if you try to have naps when your baby is, does help alot
i think amber was 3 weeks better her sleep started to get a lil better, now she is only awake once a night

we had same problem. but Livvy just wouldnt settle in her moses basket in the day. night times werent bad but now she wont settle in her moses basket at night now so she only settles (if we manage to get her to sleep!) for bout 30mins. for the last week we have put her in bed with us and she sleeps like a log! when we first go to bed she sleeps for bout 4-6hours and then every 4hours after that. so we are only waking up once in the night. i know its not the best idea co-sleeping but we were willing to do anything for some sleep and a quiet life!!
also you could try putting him in his car seat, wrapping him up tight, ... his mattress, night light, hot water bottle. also a comfort blanky is brill (its been a god send for us!) it makes livvy settle in the day when im doing house work etc.
hope this helps! tc Stacey & 7wk Olivia x x x

It won't last forever! I had the same with all mine in the early days. I think it's quite common, especially when you breastfeed. I found the best solutions were sleeping whenever baby is asleep.....day or night!! Also having baby in bed with me so I could fall asleep feeding! Hope this is some help!
Lotsa love Trace (38+4)xxxxxx

My sister is having this problem with her daughter at the mo and shes well sounds horrible but enforcing nap time and feeding time when she wants and apparently it settles them more at night as they sleep less and feed more in the day you basically keep them awake after feeding then put them down at set times in the day, maybe you could also try expressing milk so your hubby could bottle feed him once a night? Sorry really not much help take care xx
