Hi all,
Hope everyone is doing okay.

Does anyone know the score with chicken pox and shingles? I myself have had chicken pox when i was a kid but my niece has chicken pox atm (they are spots now)and my father in law has shingles. My mother in law hasnt had chicken pox yet so could she catch shingles off her hubby? Im staying clear of all of them to be on the safe side and im seeing my midwife at the end of the week so will check with her but my main concern is that if i was to have my baby over the next few days or so as i am due on 22nd feb, what risk will my baby be if he comes into contact with any of them? Obviously i do not want my baby getting anything nasty like that as soon as he is born but my in laws are gonna hate being made to keep away from there grandson if they are infectious but my boy comes first.

Any help/advice would be great as i cant seem to find anything as yet on the internet

Thank you

If you've had chicken pox as a child then both you and your baby are immune.

Hope this helps
