Hello girls,
Hope you're all ok and that you're enjoying your pregnancies and babies whatever stage you're at. Just thought I'd post my birth story on hear while I've got a quiet five minutes.
I was due on the 17th February but started with a show and period type pains on Sunday the 9th in the early hours. These turned into stronger pains about 8 minutes apart which I found I could manage with a Tens machine. At about 4pm on the Sunday I thought my waters had broken so we rang delivery suite and made our way in only to be told that I was only 1cm dilated and they weren't sure if my waters had gone. So I went home at continued to have regular contractions all through the night, painful but manageable. We went back to the day unit the following morning so they could check me and they told me I was no further on. Was absolutly knackered by now has hadn't slept since friday night son decided to go home and try and sleep. Fat Chance!! Contractions still kept coming every 8 minutes and gradually got stronger as the day went on. Eventually at 12.15 on Tuesday morning my waters broke and I was admitted to the delivery suite. I was so tired by this time that, I although I hate to admit it, I just couldn't manage any more so I had an epidural. What a relief. I know why women propose marriage to their anaethetists now.
Anyway, Noah Peter was finally born at 12:24pm on Tuesday the 12th weighing 8lb 2ozs. I had to have forceps because he was lying back to back facing upwards and unfortunatly I ended up with a 3rd degree tear which took 45 minutes to stitch.
Noah is absolutly gorgeous and I'm totally in love with him!! Even when he's screaming at 4 in the morning.
Just wanted to say thanks to everyone on here for being so supportive especially lisa merchant and leitia...
Will post some piccies when I get chance. Better go as I think little man is filling his nappy!! The joys of motherhood!!
Love Becky and Noah xxx

A great name too (Noah is what we had chosen if we were having a boy, but we are having a girl).
