hi...i am pregnant after miscarriage but i didnt have a period so have to have blood tests to find out how far gone i am. i had one on monday and need another one but cant remember when the doctor told me to go. i am sure its today - wednesday - but is this too soon? how far apart are they done so they can get an accurate result? i think im 4weeks so its too early for a scan. Also how long does it take for the doctor to get the result? thanks. aimee x

I had these blood tests run when I was first preg to check all progressing OK and I had bloods taken every 2 days (3 lots of blood in total). They expect to see your HGC levels doubling every couple of days and it confirms a viable pregnancy/twins etc etc

best of luck

xx

first of all. I hope you have a happy and healthy 9 months

I'm watching what the ladies tell you as I'd be handy to know!

I found out yesterday - how do they calculate how far gone you are before the first scan?

xx
"Thanks!"

Thanks im keeping my fingers crossed just impatient. I hate all the waiting around, i just want to make sure my baby is ok and still alive...i couldnt cope with another miscarriage. Well the doctor has sent me for a blood test on monday and one today...which will measure the amount of hcg in my blood. That will then tell them how far gone i am. It is too early for a scan so blood tests were all they could do. But you can do it by the first day of your last period. Use that as day 1. I just dont want to wait ages for my results lol
Anyways Congratulations on your pregnancy! Hope all is well!
