HELLO,
RECENTLY TRIED TO RECIEVE A MATB1 CERTIFICATE,
DOCTORS TOLD ME THAT I WASNT ALLOWED TILL 26 WEEKS PREGNANT (19WEEKS AT TIME).
TODAY BROWSING ON INTERNET AND FOUND OUT I COULD RECIEVE ONE AT 20 WEEKS.
SPOKE TO CITIZENS ADVICE TOLD ME TO RING JOBCENTRE THEY TOLD ME TO RING COUNCIL AND THEN THEY TOLD ME TO RING BENEFIT ENQUIRER LINE 0800882200 THEY CONFIRMED THAT YOU CAN RECIEVE AT 21 WEEKS PREGNANT. I THEN RANG MIDWIFE TOLD HER MY FINDINGS NOW HOPEFULLY RECIEVING ON FRIDAY AT 21 WEEKS.
REALLY THINK THAT PEOPLE SHOULD BE TOLD CORRECT INFORMATION ITS STRESSFUL ENOUGH BEING PREGNANT . REALLY HOPE THAT THIS HELPS OTHER MUMS-TO-BE IN MY SITUATION.
IT IS REALLY FRUSTRATING SPEAKING TO STUPID RECEPTIONISTS.

I got mine...

nearly 3 weeks ago at 17 weeks but wont see midwife again until im 25 weeks so that may be why she gave it to me early or it could be different in other regions.

No standardisation!

All these different authorities and different midwifes who all tell you different things! I got mine last Friday at my last check - I had to ask for it though.... and I was 24 weeks 5 days. This is my first baby and I have found that midwifes

all say different things and expect you to know procedures and exactly what you should be doing.... good example being free prescriptions - when I mentioned at my check up that I was suffering from heartburn she said she would get me a for Gaviscon - I mentioned about getting it free (which will be a nice change....) and she asked me if I had got my card through - you can imagine the rest - "what card?"..... there are also plenty of other examples but it just seems that they all give different advice and sometimes contradict each other.... hey ho....
