Charlotte, i've got my scan on monday, i can't wait to know the sexe! My 2nd is so late at 23 weeks instead of 21, well in few days i'll know... For your question about your GP, i never saw one always the midwife but maybe he will do the same checks as the midwife, and yes i think you should be able to have a blood test earlier than july especially as you fainted so the GP will want to make sure you are not aneamic(which i read is common in pregnancy, but not serious) Anyway thanks 4 your mail i'm glad to give the reassurance u need, it being your first & being in a foreign country which i both experienced, i found it really nice myself to be able to communicate & share things!!! About dieting i don't know how much i've gained as it will be too upsetting to weight myself but i just see it even my arms are getting fatter, anyway i won't starve myself i just want to eat sensibly from now on, and like Estelle said as soon as baby is born it's diet/gym/breastfeeding/running around after 3 kids!!! i'm sure i'll be back in those jeans in no time. By the way i just purchased a lovely 3 wheel pushchair bebeconfort of ebay for just £53 , well i still have to pick it up on saturday. Does anyone buy on ebay? Such great deals! Nat

thank you Nath for your advice, you seem so calm and "sereine", but with already 2 children, you have much more experience. I know how you fell about the scan, i was so exciting and so impress by how big was my baby!! so you want to know the sex? what would you like, girl or boy ? let me know the size of your baby, mine at 20 weeks was 25 cm for instance. Does he move a lot ? You haven't got some pain in your "basse cotes" ? because i think they start to become more large and i think my baby is stretching on them, its funny!

I think the pushchair you bought on Ebay at this price is very good ! I am hesitating between the 3 wheels and the 4, are the 3 not too big to "park" in the bus? they seem very handy and i quite like them. What king of puschair is it ? is it the 2 in 1 ?

I havent bought anything at the moment, i am tempting everyday and i might start on saturday cause we will go to the sales organised by the NCT at clapham common, we might find a good deal. Otherwise, for the paint of the room and the rest, we will start in June, ouuaisss!

And where will you put your baby straight after the birth, in the cot or in the moses basket?
Cheers, c.

I don't purchase on ebay but I should, it looks like there are good stuffs!
I'm getting a bit concern now with my weight, loads of pregnant women only gained 5 kg at 6-7 months....but anyway I shouldn't compare myself with other we're all different !
I was so scared that baby will be born too tiny that I didn't take care of my weight at all. Moreover, I was a smoker (1 packet a day) I stoped from the moment I saw that the test was positif. So that was my excuse. It's hard enought to stop smoking so I had to replace it with something else....
Let's keep positive! I have a deal with my partner, I can take 1 hour off anytime I want to run to the gym after the baby is born! I've never had a baby before so you will probably think "Yeah right, you'll see young lady when the baby will stop crying, the only thing you'll have in mind will be: bed, shower, bed!"
But let's be positive !

Estelle.

Nath, did you have your 2nd scan yet ? and where have you got your 24 weeks examen, at the hospital/with your GP or your midwife ?
How many pounds have you taken ? i havent got a "pese-personne" (in english??) so sometimes i go to see the nurse at work and ask her to weigh me...
"I dont think"

you should put yourself on diet, but instead, try to eat properly. Do a list of what you need really to eat (check internet and read a lot) and stick with it. Eating for 2 is completely wrong because in fact, the quantity of food that you should eat more because you are pregnant is the equivalent of a toast!!
I really think that it will be more difficult to lose your weight after the birth, it is better to struggle with it now and enjoy the rest of your pregnancy, with the feeling to be sexy instead of looking like a big cow!!

Courage,
Charlotte

Hi Nat, how many kg did you take? I personally don't think it's a good idea to diet when pregnant but I understand your point. I feel fat and ugly sometimes! Everyone around me keeps on telling me "but you're pregnant, you're beautiful" yeah right...
I think we just have to get on with it. I'm in my 28 weeks and I took 9.5kg, which is a lot but I keep on telling myself that I will breastfeed (which helps you to loose weight), eat properly and go to the gym when baby comes. I eat now because I know that I will be strict with myself after the birth.
Estelle. Courage!

I've 'been though' pregnancy with my friends and I totally undertsand how hard it must be to see your body changing like that, it must be a real shock, especially if you're used to being slim. The only thing you can do is eat well, which doesn't necessarily mean eating for two, just really healthily and making sure you get the right nutrients for you both.
good luck! I can't wait for my turn
