Hungry baby and constipation...

Hi all,

Just looking for some advice on this please...?

My daughter is on the hungry baby food as she was getting through an extraordinary amount of milk, but ever since she has been constipated. We took her to the doc who said its due to the change of formula as i thought it was anyway, and he said to try a bit of brown sugar in warm water. Now it was my bf who took Ava, and he is a bit vague on the measurements, he thinks the doc said 30ml of water and half a teaspoon of sugar.(Men). Could anyone clarify? And does anyone have any other suggestions?

Many thanks

Kerry and Ava x

im not sure how much water cos Olivias not been constipated (the doctor did tell me about the sugar thing) but put extra bit of water in her bottle. like put 4 oz with 20ml extra in... and make sure your not putting more powder than water in cos that makes there poo hard.

I know this sounds awful

but it worked for my Jakob. just stimulate their bottom with a baby wipe it helps them go. I felt so ill when i done it, but Jakobs all better now. xxxxxxx Kels and Jakob 18weeks

Apple juice

My nephew had very bad constipation as a baby and we used to give him apple juice at time and other times the sugar/water. Both worked a treat. Even now when he gets bound up the apple juice does the trick nicely for him.

Good luck! Sharon 14+2 bump xxx

Hi

I heard you can put vaseline in babies bottoms as it could just be sore coming out, this helps it to slide out easier! Hope this helps! x

Hi

try a small drop of orange juice in boiled water and wen she is going to toilet lift her legs towards her belly u can also put a bit of vaseline by her bum to stop her being sore hope this helps leanne

Sorry
