Hi ladies,
Not the best subject but I was wondering if any of you mums had this problem. I had an episiotomy when i gave birth 6 weeks ago and first i had an infection, which cleared with antibiotics. Then ten days ago I was sore again, so saw my gp who gave me another course of antibiotics and also said I had a cyst down there, which would clear with the antibiotics. I've finished the course now and I'm still very very sore. Any one had that. How long before you felt ok again and ready to be intimate with your partner?
thanks
Flo

I also had an episiotomy 7 weeks ago tomorrow after having my daughter. I have been feeling ok for a few weeks and even had sex with hubby on Sunday but have been feeling weird ever since. I have been getting sharp pains (it feels like a knife being twisted inside - sorry for tmi!). Sorry if I'm not much help, I think everyone is completely different and heals at different stages.
Hope you feel better soon,
Claire

Hi Flo I had an episiotomy 7 weeks ago when i gave birth to my daughter. I have had no issues with infection and I can no longer actually feel the stitches on the outside. My partner and I resumed our sex life 5 weeks following Eden's borth however I would say that things feel a little sore on the inside to the point where I asked him to stop last time. I have no issues with the stitches in everyday life and I can say that we have only be intimate on 3 occassions. Everyone is different and your infection would have affected the healing process so if it's clearing up now I'd give yourself another 6 weeks from now before everything starts to feel a bit more normal.

Hope this helps. PM me if you want.
Donna. x
