Bad leg cramps....in night

Hey,

I woke up several times in the night with really bad cramps in my lower legs, it was as though I had cycled 90000000 miles the day before!!!

Has anyone else had this or know what it is???? I am wondering if maybe it's lack of potassium or salt in my body, or if the baby was maybe lying on a nerve or 2!!!

Thanks girls,

Sambo & 21+3 bump xx

Hi

I had this for a while at the end of 2nd trimester, beginning of 3rd, thankfully it's passed, the pain was excruiciating!!!!
MW suggested drinking more milk, which also helped with my indigestion, and to try drinking indian tonic water, which I really dislike but drank a glass a day anyway...

Hope it doesn't last the remainder of your pregnancy, I can put up with dull, achey legs, even pins and needles, but the cramp - nooo!

Take Care

Hey

i got this for a while and still get it every now and again found drinking more milk helped me alot. midwife said it could be a lack of calcium. i've been told a number fo things used to get it loads when i was younger then it wen away and back now though it did start to ease off after about 28 weeks.

before egtting into bed try and stand facing a wall and lean forward to stretch out your calf muscles a bit found this helped alot as well as massaging your legs before bed.

hope you find someting that works for you

Hi

I got leg cramps in my second trimester and found that Horlicks made with hot milk before bed helped. My boyfriend was also a complete star and massaged my legs before I went to bed, because it could be poor circulation (good for cellulite too). Recently I've dicovered that a hot water bottle around the bottom of my legs keeps them comfy all night too (again, probably helps with the circulation).

Hopes this help love, it's not nice is it?
