Is this the start of labour?

Hi all mums-to-be,

I hope all is well wiv the pregnancies.

I was getting contractions last nite at about 8 o'clock which lasted for about half an hour then they stopped then at 2 o'clock this morning i started getting contractions again which lasted for about an hour then stopped then at 5.45 i got really painful contractions again which lasted for about an hour & a half then stopped again. The last set of contractions were quite painful & strong. From lunchtime yesterday i have had a really sore(unbearable)lower back at the right hand side which if i stand for more than 1 minute the pain travels down my leg, it was so bad that i ended up taking paracetamol, which is the 1st time i have taken anything during this pregnancy as i have a really high pain tolerence level, its got to be really bad b4 i take anything but the painkillers did not help!

Please help, i am going out of my mind!

Hi Nicola,

I would say that your in early labour, we were told at ante-natal that this could go on for a couple of days, just keep on having baths, making sure you keep active but also relaxing when you can, you must make sure you eat to keep your sugar levels up and carry on with the paracetamol. Have you got a TENS machine? may be worth getting that out too, but i defo reckon that you could have your baby with you soon!!

Sounds like something is happening! Could be what they call pre labour! Hang in there.....shouldn't be too long now!
