Gender scan

Since finding out my hospital does not tell you the sex of your baby these days, I've been pretty gutted and thinking lots about a private scan. We wanted to get a 4d one, but these can't be done untill after 22 weeks, so after much thought, we have gone ahead and booked a normal private scan just for the purpose of finding out the sex. The best bit is that they will do it anytime after 16 weeks, which I will be on Sunday, so have booked it for the following week on March 20th when I'll be 17+4 so I don't have to wait too long for it!! Yay!! I'm sooo excited, I can't tell you, just hope baby decides to co-operate, but of there's any problems we get a free rescan to try again so it's all good.

We've decided that if all goes well and we like the place, we will still go back and have the 4d scan at a later date as a treat, and also to confirm the sex once again. So it's for their own benefit that they give us a good experience!

So hopefully I will know pink or blue before the end of the month, and then have my regular 20 week scan on 1st April - plenty to look forward to. OOh, I'm so impatient, I just can't wait! Anybody else desperate to know?

Hiya hun

where is it your looking at having the 4d scan done? im having mine at babyvision in upton magna on 5th april supposed to be very good ive got a total of 3 scans to look forward to now my bub is going to hate cameras by the time he or she is born lol

Babybond

Hey Nicki, we are having the sexing scan done at Babybond in Bridgnorth, basically because it's quite a bit closer than the babyvision place in shrewsbury. It's a bit more expensive, but we figured we will save the difference in petrol alone so it should be fine. If all goes well and we like the place and the staff, we will go back there for the 4d scan sometime during may probably when I'll be in 25+ weeks territory. Babyvision was quite a lot cheaper for the sexing scan but they wouldn't do it until I'd had my 20 week u/s at the hospital whereas babybond will do it anytime after 16 weeks which is another reason we went with them - I'm just too impatient to wait much longer!!

How you feeling now? Everything ok?

Big hugs Lisa n bump 15+6 x

Good thanks

aye chest still bad but feeling better my eldest came out of hospital yesterday after her op so been running around after her today shes not ill but im just pampering her lol i didnt realise there was a place in bridgenorth as well thats why we just booked with babyvision as its the only one i knew about but if its cheapr i dont mind lol its only about a 15 min drive if that as were up this end of town anyway hope your all weoll xxx

Babybond scans r great...

I found out i was pregnant at about 10 weeks so didn't get my first scan till about 14. My twenty week (or 24 it will mean cos I am late) still isn't till the end of march so my OH and me got a babybond private scan-I couldn't wait to find out the sex. For anyone considering this, I would HIGHLY recommend it. The staff were friendly and were excited about the results (unlike the hospital where I found the sonographer to be patronising and uninterested - I know its their job, but a little bit of enthusiasm wouldn't go amiss!). The staff aren't rushed and make you feel comfortable, answer all your silly questions, and we knew the sex of our baby (a little boy!) in about 2 minutes! It is totally safe and been going for years so don't worry about this side of things. For £79 I would say go for it as you can then start getting excited about the new little arrival in your life. x

Hey

we had one done at babybond at 17+6 and couldnt fault them one bit. its soo nice to see the baby and get told what it is, hope it goes well for you hun.

Thanks

Hey Lisa, thanks for that. We are having ours done at babybond as well, so it's nice to know they are good. Did they find the sex easily or spend some time looking? I'm expecting them to take a while to see anything, I don't know why, but I'm guessing they are patient with you. Have you had your sex confirmed at a later date or just going on what they told you? I don't know why I'm getting so worked up about it, I've had a baby before so I remember what it was like last time, but we've never paid good money for a scan before so I'm a bit wary of it I suppose.

Thanks x

Hey lisa

They had to poke a bit to get her to move the little madam was sleeping so had a good look at her then. They explained what they could see and did a good look about and seen 3 strong lines (girl). we are going by what we were told as at the 20 week scan we knew what we were looking for and the little madam had her legs wide open and we seen it again but sonographer didnt say a word. I will tell you this that i didnt know when i went in the babybond i went to had a screen on the wall so we got to see it on tv, which was cool. xnatx1 had her 4d scan at the same babybond as i did, if you pm her i am sure she'll tell you her exprience too. But its defo worth the money it was so clear. how old is your other one

Cool

Ooh, I like the thought of seeing it on TV! My little boy will be 3 in May so he's growing up fast, but when I was pregnant with him they told us the sex at the hospital. Obviously changed their policy since then, but it did take them quite a while to see anything and they tipped me right up on the table to try and move him so they could see! They had almost given up when they finally saw his little bits! I always wanted a boy first and then a girl so really hoping and praying this one is pink!! Having said that, I will be happy either way as long as everything is ok. Thanks again

Hey lisa

im hoping to find out the sex of my baby on the 11th april at my 20/21week scan my hospital do do it but only if they can see clear enough so hopefully baby will be good lol. but oh said that we will have a 3d/4d done if we cant see the sex...he wants to do the room acording to sex of baby and cant wait, dont blame him lol!!
hope all you bumps are doing well.

Hey

its coz when i went they let older kids in too, not sure how old they were something like 7-8. They will try and get the little one to move but if not i wouldnt complain you'd get 2 scans for 1. I trust them more then the hospital as you're paying them to tell you the right one so i think they'd make sure more but thats my personally thought. Oh not only you get to see little on on tv but you get warm gel instead of the cold gel the hospital gives you. I went oach thats warm, and she replied i did just take it out of the warmer but i had prepared myself for the cold one. lol so theres something else for you.
