You must be very excited! I had mild period pains at the beginning and then the odd twinge/pain which I put down to my womb stretching and all the activity that was going on down there. The 1st few weeks of pregnancy there is a lot of preparation going on in there!lol If you are worried mention it to your GP when you go to him. Have you been to GP yet to sort out your MW booking in appointment? I went to GP at 5wks MW booking in at 11wks.

congratulations hun and welcome to the board and the family. as you can see by the threads we are all here to support each other through our pregnancies, dont ever worry about asking ?s no matter how silly they seem to you, if you need a moan moan away ect.
The pains could be just your womb growing, its extremely normal to have growing pains, when you go and see your doc to comfirm the pregnancy, speak to them about it.
Take care hun,

Well first things first.. Are you happy and excited??

Im 10 weeks on friday and i first found out when i was 6 weeks gone. I was so excited because its been on the cards for so long.
I had exactly the same problem as you. I missed my period, which is how i knew and my boobs were very tender and sore. I was having period pains for about two weeks before i knew i was pregnant which is why i thought i was due on. There was no sign of any period. When i found out i was pregnant, i was still getting the pains a few weeks after but then the doctor put my mind at rest. Its your uterus stretching and adapting to the change thats going on in your body. Its nothing to worry about. Honestly. I was really panicky but can honestly say that the pains have stopped and im feeling great now.
The only time to worry is when your getting similar pains but bit more painful and your bleeding heavily. Thats when you need to see a doc.

Good luck and take care.

I'm so excited for you - congratualations darling..
I'm 10 weeks now, found out when I was 5 weeks and like you experienced period like pains, but as Jodie said, it is perfectly normal...mention it to your doctor or at your 1st booking in appointment, but my pains passed within 2 weeks and then I just had nausea all day and the odd bout of sickness, boobs still ache, and get lots of headaches, but apart from feeling tired all of the time, the pain has gone. I do get the odd twinge every so often, but this is normal..
Also now that you know you are pregnant, you'll be aware of every pain/twinge - please dont panic, if it gets really bad, see your GP..

Apart from that - enjoy and do take lots of rest okay...

Speak soon hun

xx
