"Sex during pregnancy"

Hi,
Fell a bit stupid asking this...
I'm four months pregnant with my second child. Our sex life hasn't really changed at all, and I was wondering if it will affect the baby in any way if I continue sleeping with my partner.
He was working abroad during the first seven months of my pregnancy with our first child, by the time he came back I was the size of a house and didn't really want to anyway, so it wasn't a problem!
I know it won't physically harm the baby, but still feel a bit weird about it to be honest!
thanksxxxx

im 13 weeks pregnant and have a normal sex life it doesnt affect the baby in anyway no matter how big your partners penis is. the baby is fully protected. but always use a condom!

hi

It might be a stupid question but why use a condom???
"Don't think condoms required"

I don't think a condom is necessary unless your waters have broken and thats to reduce chance of infection for the baby.

Its a bit late to worry about getting pregnant or catching anything if the partner is the babies father.

I think each to their own, sex didn't interest me at all through my pregnancy and my partner let me be. In my opinion, either way is good, just go with how you feel.
"Don't worry!"

I was the same at first,it just didn't sit right.
But there was no way we were going to deprive ourselves for nine months - our daughter was eventually born two weeks late, after we had 'speeded things up' a little on the advice of my midwife...
It certainly hasn't done her any harm, in fact I think it probably has a positive effect in some way, maybe some sort of subliminal feeling of security for the foetus, knowing that it's parents love each other?!
"I agree - worry not"

What a nice thought. My husband and I continued a 'normal' sex life all through my pregnancy and had a perfectly normal little boy and have done so through this pregancy. Accept at those times when my hormones told me it wasn't required. Usually by making me feel sick!

I think it does have a positive effect as you say not only on the baby but on your relationship too. It kind of confirms that your partnership and intimacy will continue alongside your growing family and makes your partner feel more than a sperm donor at a time when he can do little else. Do it while you get to pick when I say!!
"Sex is healthy and good during pregnancy"

I am 18 weeks and my partner and I have sex regularly. It is completely normal and actually healthy as long as the doctor has not prohibited you due to health problems. If a paticular position is uncomfortable then you will know it is not right for you.

I also agree that it is important to stay connected with your partner and your baby benefits by receiving the same good hormones.
