personally i think its risky. when you say doesnt harm your baby it certainly can, it makes you want to go poo really badly, but not only you, can make the baby poo instead you, and if baby swallows that can have serious affect on their life.
fair enough you maybe sick of being pregnant, but hang in their you havnt got very long left. considering been carrying a baby 40weeks 2weeks at most is nothing.

"Caster oil" Posted by daiseyinfl79 22 March at 18:44
Hi. I was due yesterday too. (3/21) I also was told to try caster oil by my sister and a few friends, asked my midwife about it and she said ABSOLUTELY NOT! She said different people respond to different things and now is NOT the time to be experimenting with what works, and what makes you or the baby ill. I am scheduled Monday to be induced and she recommended that I don't try any thing to force it (raspberry tea, caster oil...) So I'm going to just take it easy this weekend and get ready for Monday. Good Luck

"Hey..." Posted by staceymy 22 March at 14:46
my aunty took this with baby no2. she took it at around 9pm and had her baby at 6am... she said it set her straight off. but i have read that it takes a few hours to get through system.
she was going to take it with baby no3 if she went overdue but he didnt. he came on due date (think he heard her hehe!)
i have heard it can be dangerous for baby tho (can poo inside you). but i have heard a few success stories... one being someone took it at 37wks and went straight into labour... she also said it was a quick birth.
its upto to you if want to take it... be careful and dont tell mw as they dont agree with it. theres a few receipes you can make with it... google castor oil.
good luck and take care Stacey & 12wk Olivia x x x

Hiya. My midwife strongly suggests not to take caster oil. She said it doesn't always work. but for one lady it did. It gave her such a bad case of 'the runs' she spent most of labour on the loo. The lady said it was far worse having the runs than labour its self. Just wanted you to know just in case you have the same.
Good luck with your little one when she arrives!
Take Care.

"Hi" Posted by desperatefor3 21 March at 22:21
I took caster oil with my second baby, it was awfull and did not put me in labour. It works in the same way as a hot curry would. It makes you go for a bowel movements (to put it nicely) and that can start contractions.
Good luck

Took about 4 0z in a glass with apple juice, it is so discusting. I was so despeate. I did that twice over two days. If you have much more than that your labour could be so quick it would not be nice at all.
