I just wondered if anyone has any experiences of being overdue. This is my first pregnancy and I have had absolutely no sign of my baby coming by itself. I am going to the hospital tomorrow to start the induction process, does anyone have any induction stories? - Good or Bad I always like to prepare myself for the worse.

I was overdue with both my boys by 2 weeks, I was induced with my first after the 2nd pesserie my contractions got stronger id lost my plug with the first pesserie and my waters broke with the 2nd, unfortunatley for me i had meconium in my waters(when the baby opens there bowl inside you)! So rushed to the delivery suite, 24 hours later a cut and forceps delivery i had my son 6lb 14oz. With my 2nd my waters were breaking slowly on the day i was to be induced, had a pesserie in the afternoon as nothing was happening, as soon as i had it the contractions were coming, but irregular, 24 hours later and only 2cm dilated, i was rushed in for a emergancy c-section and got my little boy 7lb 14 oz. So i am on my 3rd and this time having a planned c-section for obvious reasons. Please though dont panic or stress i am very small and docs do feel this is the reason, 4"11. Everyone is differant and hopefully you will have a good labour. With my first i had an epidural which was great.
I always say to people go with the flow and do whatever is best for yourself, everyone is differant.

i went 14 days over with my 2nd and was induced i had 1 failed sweep and 1 lot of gel my waters broke by themselves when i was in labour but the contractions started really quickly after having the gel you;ve just got to try and move about as much as gravity helps apparently good luck for tomorrow!

i was 12 days over due with both my girls and was induced with my 2nd i was booked in for 8 am and got there on time, but my contractions had started in the nite but very slowly and just an uncomfortable ache in my lower back. they were still far apart and short so i asked for the tablet for induction and it really helped!! it just gets things going and then i had to ask for my waters to be broken as they still hadnt gone, the induction helped alot as i was prepared for it as apposs to being unexpected. i feel for you!! the memories of being that long over due, i hope this one isnt that late its unbareable having to wait!! but just think in 2 days your have your little bundle to hold!! good luck with it all!!

I am really hoping that once I start the process that it keeps on progressing, i'm not expecting a quick labour or anything like that just really want to get on with it now. My baby was due on Good Friday which seems ages ago now.

Sorry but cant be of any help on induction. Have 4 kids but 3 have been early and 1 was a week late.
