Hiya all,

Im new to the board, almost 6 weeks now, and the time until my first appointment with the midwife is dragging!

Reading a lot of the posts has made me a bit nervous, and particularly since i have told a few people that im pregnant, i hate to jinx my little bean. I love it already, and am feeling like im in another world at the moment.

I took 4 pregnancy tests before i went to the doc, and all were positive! When i got there, she never even did a test. All she checked was my blood pressure and had a quick listen to my heart. I then booked an appointment with the midfie, and now I wait. It killing me..... Im getting a few perios like cramps... loads of people say its normal! I sure hope so! I am getting fatter by the day.... and going to the loo loads!
Please tell me its all good!

Help Please

Yes, it's all normal. The 1st 12 weeks are the longest ever but after that, they fly. The good news is you've already dont 6 weeks of the. Cramping is completely normal, everything is stretching and you'll feel plently more strange twinges and aches before the baby arrives.

Congratulations hun - we'r all here is you have anything to ask.

Hugs

are normal .. especially in early stages .. i still get them now sometimes. The only time they say to worry is when they are accompanied by bleeding and are really bad. Period type aches are normal from what i remember.

I know what u mean about waiting for mw - mine was useless and didnt even call me til i was 12 weeks - grrr - you'll be surprised by how quick it goes.

Love to u and bean

I know how you feel waiting on the 1st MW appointment to come round is the pits. I went to my GP at 5wks and had by MW booking in appointment at 11wks...longest 6wks ever!lol All my GP did was ask me when my last period was and worked out an approx EDD and booked me in for MW, that was it!

After the 12wk mark the time just seems to fly by! The cramping is normal enough I think, I had it and still do get some mild cramps, think its babs just moving around getting comfortable. Things stretching.

I still get the period cramps in my sides and I am nearly 21 weeks! I nearly drove myself mad with this pregnancy thanks to three consecutive miscarriages - all medically explained and not random! But I made it and am loving (although still paranoid) every minute of it! It may seem like a long time - I thought the last five weeks of my first trimester would never end - now I can barely remember them! Before you know it - you will be having your 12 week scan!

Good luck and all the best.

Try not to worry. The cramps are normal. Its everything growing. I had really uncomfortable, af type cramps from ovulation right up until a week or so ago. I still get them every now and then. Your midwife appointment will soon be here and it wont be long until your 1st scan. Then it will seem real for you. Im 12wks this week and I still get days when I dont really feel pregnant. Its really strange.

take care

I'm sure everything is going perfectly fine! It's a shame reading alot of the threads has made you nervous! Every pregnancy is different, I didn't get any symptoms and I didn't find out I was pregnant until about 15 weeks! Alot of women do go to the loo much more in their 1st trimester but I noticed that more in my 3rd!!! lol and getting fatter by the day, I suppose thats being bloated which alot of women seem to get early on (only know that for reading the boards though!)

That first appointment will drag, because you will be looking forward to it so much, but it'll soon come around as will the time when you hold your baby in your arms, I look back now and see how time flew (though I felt it was dragging at the time!)

Good luck in your pregnancy, and take care of yourself and bean!
