Hi girls

How is everyone and their bumps doing?

A month ago i left my job to do a training course for 2months, after a few weeks in training i felt i was not doing what i was supposed to be doing spoke to my manager but nothing changed, at the end of the first month he told me he wasn't going to renew the travel ticket (may be because I was the only female staff there and pregnant and the journey was about 4hours everyday etc).

I am really feeling bad at the moment (feel like a failure). Not even sure if anyone would employ me with a big bump.

Has you ever been or know anyone else whoever been in similar situation? Please your advise is highly appreciated.

from 29 weeks you can get maternity allowance. £112.75 per week same as SMP for the full 39 weeks everone else can get. they are good and get things done and were really helpful for me. i'm not entitled for SMP due to not being at my job long enough before the qualifying week.

i'm sure you can prob get jobseekers allowance until 29 weeks to keep you going

go and speak to them and see what they say

Hi, im not in the same position as you, but just wanted to say that at almost 27 weeks i wouldnt even be thinking about work now. Enjoy the time you have up until the birth planning and making sure everything is in order for when you LO comes along, after that just spend as much time with your new arrival as you can.

Everyone is entitled to maternity leave so just look at it like that. You've got all the time in the world do start a new job and get your career going again.

One last thing do not feel that you are a failure, your doing an amazing thing bring a baby into the world so enjoy it. We cant help what circumstances throw at us.

Oh and find out what money your entitled to in the meantime.

Sorry for the long reply, not sure if i made much sense either lol.

I left work at 6wks due to the fact i worked with horses and i couldnt keep up for one and two i didnt think it would be safe while pregnant as my boss wanted me to muck out and ride as usual. I didnt want to risk having another m/c.

When you reach 29wks anyway you can go onto maternity leave. So if i was you i wouldnt bother. Get yourself down to the job centre (if you havent already) and find out what your entitled to. I know you should get income support form 29wks as you can no longer look for work so you wouldnt get job seekers allowance.

Hope this helps.
