what does posterior placenta mean.

its on my 20 weeks notes i got today. im 25 weeks 2moz will it have moved?

whats the best postion and most common for the placenta to be?

where was urs at 20 weeks?

means at the back of your uterus. I think this is the most common position for the placenta to be. Once it has bedded in, it is in the same place until the birth.

Mine was anterior (at the front). An anterior placenta can prevent the mum to be from feeling the baby kicking, and usually feels movements later than a mum to be with a posterior placenta.

As long as the placenta isn't low lying then you have nothing to worry about hun.

And have to agree about the kicking. I mostly feel him low in my belly if I am sitting down or lying on my back but not generally when I am standing.

I asked my midwife too if anterior was good or bad and she said that it can be on either side, front or back but NOT low lying. So providing its not low lying you fine and even if it is low lying - there is still time for it to move!
