Hi everyone, hows the bumps doing?
Gosh it seems like yesterday i had my baby girl Oliva, but on tuesday she will be a month old...its gone so quickly its quite scary. Just letting everyone who i talked to know that we are fine and being a mum is the best thing thats happened to me.
I started off breastfeeding and i did that for nearly 3 weeks but it was getting way too much for me and i nearly blacked out i was that exhausted, so we've put her on the SMA GOLD which she loves, havent had any probs with her chnaging to the bottle. And she only wakes up once through the night or sometimes she sleeps through.
Well tonight im putting her to bed for 7pm, going to bath and feed her and try get her into a routine, ive got the baby moniters with the screen so i can see and hear her, there really good.
Wow! Ive been reading peoples birth stories and i think i was quite lucky, ive read some women have been pushing for an hour or so until giving birth, it only took me 20 mins, it must be exhausting!
Good luck everyone! And dont worry its the best thing ever!

Brooke and 3 week + 5 Olivia XxX

glad you're enjoying being a mum - me too.

can i ask what routine you are doing and how much you are feeding her? ben is waking up twice between 10.30pm and 7.30am to be fed which would be made easier if he settled straight after but he doesnt - i think he has tummy ache a lot so changing his formula.

anyway, any advice is much appreciated

Hi...Gosh Olivia weighed 7 pounds 3 oz when she was born and now she weighs 8 pounds 5 0z.
Tina, hi, i like to get olivia bathed and fed for 7 or half past and then put her to bed, ive only been doing it 3 days now and it seems to be going ok, last nite she didnt do as well as the others but i think shes getting the gist. I dont necessarily put her to bed when shes alseep, once shes had her bath and feed then i give her a cuddle change her nappy and shes off to bed, she usually nods straight off or lays awake for a bit. Well im making her bottles 4 0z as thats what the health visitor said and thats what it says on the sma tin, but she drinks anything from 2-4 ounce, every 2-3 hours.
I would say bens good if hes waking up only twice. Olivia from 7.30 wakes once between 12.30 - 2.00 and then at either 5.30 or 7.30.She wakes at diff times.
So how are u finding been a mummy?
good luck brooke and olivia x

I am loving being a Mummy too!

Tina, not sure whether I can help you, Eleanor was a month old yesterday, she is waking once in the night, she settles between 9pm and 10pm usually, wakes any time between 2am and 4.30am, we're usually up for 30mins to an hour with her, feeding, winding and nappy change and then sleeps again until the morning, sometimes winding after her night feed takes a little onger than usual and she drifts off on my shoulder.
She is, like Olivia on SMA Gold and seems to be doing just great on that, what are you feeding Ben on?
We make up 5oz bottles for Eleanor, we demand feed and she'll take anything between 1oz and 5oz, but she takes about 7 feeds a day. The health visitor said her weight gain is great, she weighed 8lb 12oz at birth and was 10lb 2oz on Tuesday gone.

I have just changed him onto cow & gate comfort - i tried him on sma to start with but he was very sick on it.

he is taking 5oz every three hours during the day and night now - nightmare, especially when i am only getting an hours sleep as it is taking so long to get him back to sleep. im not sure of his weight as seeing the hv this tues but i reckon at least 10 1/2lb if not 11lb - he was 9lb two weeks ago. i just worry i am feeding him to much!!!

it will get better im sure, he has gone every 4 hours today (probabally as he is so tired as he decided he was going to cry most of last night!) im concerned i will pay for this tonight but we'll see!!

i had gina fords contented little baby book but it is way to complicated for me!

Glad Eleanor is doing well, i will add you as a friend on facebook so we can keep in touch if that is ok?

No problem, we can swap tips then! ha ha.

How old is Ben now? I get Eleanor weighed every tuesday.

I haven't got any books actually because I think it is far to difficult in real life to put it all into practice!

See what the health visior says about his feeding when you see her, she'll perhaps put your mind as ease or suggest switching to hungry baby formula?
