"8-12 weeks, i was told" Posted by popsy25 1 February at 18:46
Hi
I found out I was pregnant on Tuesday morning, I called my doctors yesterday and they told me I didn't need to see my doc but that I should have a midwife appointment between 8-12 weeks, to be weighed, have blood tests, given leaflets, etc etc. I have my apptmt 15th Feb and will be 8 weeks by hten.
Why don't you call your docs and ask them what they think? I think it varies by region, I'm in Somerset...

Hi, Congratulations! Im 8 weeks tomorrow and have a midwife appointment on valentines day so i'll be about 9 and a half weeks when i actually see her. I went to my doctor and told him i'd had a positive test result so he contacted the midwife for me.

""first midwife appointment"" Posted by babygirlhall 1 February at 16:42
Hi, Your first midwife appointment is usually at 12weeks as this is when you enter the second trimester. Some people have appointments before but this is usually due to concearn. I would wait untill your about 9/10weeks and then book in for your appointment.
Good luck x

I have been worrying as i thought you were meant to see the midwife at 8 - 9 weeks. I called two weeks only and managed to get an appointment on the 13 Feb!!, by that time i will be 12 weeks.
Thank you for putting my mind at rest.
