"Pains..."
Posted by kirst87 25 April  at  13:52

For the past week ive been getting irregular pains which are like period cramps. I saw the midwife at 32 weeks and she said that baby was head down and starting to go into my pelvis. So ive been putting my pains down to the babys position and increasing heavieness!

However, over the past day or so ive been getting the pains really regularly and they have changed from being just down where period crams usually are to feeling like somone is sucking my bump down. It starts off by feeling really heavy from my chest then the heavieness spreads all the way down my front and round my back and sides.
Now when it does this i can tell when its going to happen because it is like a wave starting from the top to bottom, then i have the period cramps when it reaches the bottom. My tummy goes hard and my head feels like ive been hanging upside down for ages just before the pulling starts over my bump. (sorry for the mega long description).
The pains dont seem to be getting closer together just a bit more intense (they last for up to 1min). Baby is still really active and i can feel him moving once the pain has passed.

Has anyone else had this? what could it be? should i be asking the midwife?

kirst and 34 week bump x

could it not be that your BH are starting to become much stronger/more painful? Mine are getting a lot more intense now and are becoming uncomfortable and make my bump feel very heavy (like its going to drop).

I have been experiecning some period type pains too - although have had these pretty much the whole way through pregnancy and the pains have always been put down to pressure on ligaments.

I have heard though that early labour is supposed to feel like period pains though so if your worried speak to your MW again.
