Hey ladies,

Everyday i am awake at 6.30-7ish, its really annoying me now as im really tired, but just lie there awake and get so fed up so i end up getting up.

Im so uncomfortable laying down at the moment and i have recently started drinking raspberry leaf tea and since then have been getting really strong uncomfortable BH at night time, is this normal or should i stop drinking it?!

As im tired i feel really irritable and look at OH laying there sleeping peacefully, not a care in the world really winds me up!
I woke him up and asked if he could get me a drink and he said its too early and HE is too tired!!!! Welcome to my world!!!!

Feel better already! Pointless post really but thanks for reading anyways!!!

i have a theory on this as i was the same when i was pregnant and now ben has settled into some sort of routine i am finding that he is waking up at roughly the time i was when i was pregnant (2-3am then again at 6am ish) so if you are only waking up once you may be lucky

probabally a load of crap but you never know!!

I am only 5 weeks pregnant and even though I have always slept perfectly soundly I am now waking up at 3-4am every morning. Why I have no idea, but I hate to think how I'll sleep when I get a bit further!!! I thought I had actually slept through till morning this morning, but alas when I actually looked at the clock it was 3.23! AARGH! But I wake my husband up and make him suffer with me after a while lol! Was able to get back to sleep this morning though

i have a tendency to be so tired i can just about crawl into bed at night then im wide awake at around 3-4am till about 6 ish then i fall asleep without realising and the alarm goes off at 7 and im knackered ive started having to put an alarm on my phone at 3pm to make sure i get my daughter form school on time as i have also started falling asleep int he day without realising, all i can say is it does get better just nap as and when you can xx
"Can you go back to bed?"

Hey Kate...at the weekend when I can get a ly on I cant sleep...typical! What I tend to do is hubby gets up at 7am every morning weekend or not...once I hear him up I cant get back to sleep so I get up and get breakie with him, send him out of house and go back to bed then for a couple of hrs kip....bliss! Its just great snuggling down under the duvet again...its like playing sick off work!lol Another thing you could try is a bath at bedtime...that would help with your BH also...nice warm bath always gives me a good nights sleep and relaxes my neck muscles that seem to be very tense at the moment. We have slept in separate beds the odd night too/moved to the spare room and the change in bed has helped me sleep better too.

I have just started doing that, getting up with OH having something to eat then get back into bed, even if i cant sleep its nice to watch tv and just relax. Have been having about 3 baths a day to ease BH, is it normal to be getting them so strong at this stage?

I'm awake several times through the night. I'm using ear plugs, great for blocking out snoring, traffic etc, plus I think its psychological - you think they'll work so they do!!!

Hope it gets better for you hun,

I had the unbeliveable urge to poke him to make him wake up this morning at 5ish but i decided that perhaps it would be a bit too mean. lol.

Im also getting awful BH, so am pleased that im not the only one. Hope you feel better knowin you arnt the only one

Hi Kate

Its prob not much help but my sister-in-law had your problem. She used to be up at 4am wide awake. Anyway when she went into labour, guess what time it was? Yup 4am lol. Maybe you're body is preparing for an early morning labour too! - just a thought

I'm starting to wake in the night needing the loo then being wide awake and that's annoying in itself so I have every sympathy!

just goes to show that pregnancy = no sleep and tired all the time no matter how far along we are. I'm only 12 weeks and constantly knackered, been getting really vivid dreams pretty much from day one, horrible nightmares in the early weeks but now just wierd stuff so spose I should be grateful for that at least! I'm awake in the early hours every morning though, can't settle back off and then shattered during the day, oh the joys! Doesn't sound like it's gonna get any better from what you girls are saying either, maybe it is just our body's way of getting us used to no sleep before babies arrive, no fun though. Thanks for the moan feel better now!

Lotsa love,

Why are you sad?

The old wives tale is that the insomnia is in preparation for what life is going to be like when baby arrives. As is the daytime naps and catch ups. This is so that it's not too much of a shock when you start to exist on 50 minutes sleep per 8 hours etc. Wake your man up and tell him to rub your back or hair to soothe you back to sleep. It's only fair.

joined this site when I'd just had my 3rd m/c, keep thinking I should change my username cos not sad anymore but then no-one will know it's me! As for waking OH up he sleeps like a dead man, would need a sledgehammer and some dynamite to shift him, nice thought though thanks!
