I weighed 7lb 8oz when I was born, throughout my pregnancy I was told I would have a big baby, this going on several growth scans and meauring my fundal height, Eleanor weighed 8lb 12oz, so old wives tales and doctors, neither are correct, lol!

My mum told me i was over 10lbs when i was born. I'm quite small now and not overweight but have huge bump so just wondered if im more likely to have a big one like my mum?

I was expecting a giant baby as I was 10 lbs 11oz at birth and my husband was 11 lbs even! I gave birth to a healthy baby boy weighing 6lbs 14 oz and I was 3 days overdue! So that doesn't always hold true!

Hi,

Just wanted to say that I was a tiny 3lb 6oz when born but my first daughter was 8lb 13oz.... I am nearly 35 wks pregnant again and have been told to expect another large one (I am only 5'1" tall)

I don't think your birth weight has anything to do woth it - but who knows!! Glad I was so tiny when born!!

Good luck, Jo + boy bump 34 weeks + 5 days.x x x

I dont think so. I was a 5lber but my little girl was a 6lb 15oz (my partner was a 6lber) My mate was a 9lber and had a 8lb boy.
My mum was 6lb 15oz too and had me 3days late.

Dont worry. If they think your measuring big they will send you for more tests and scans.

Take care

apparently the size of yourself and hubby doesn;t really make a huge difference with the size of your baby i was only 7lbs 10 and both mine have been larger than average my last one was over 10lbs this one will be large but apparently i just grow them that way, if they are concerned that your baby is large they will probably send you for a growth scan at around 32 weeks, could well be that you have lots of water as well

Wow, 12 scan already! My birth story ..... long postFed up of waking up so early!!!Sleeping through-long post!Coronation streetIt still doesnt feel realOh coping with crying? How much is a 3d scanHad a membrane sweep today....Grasping at straws?Check out this site.....
