sorry havent been on, been meaning to but have been so busy.
Thanks for all your kind messages, for the pain relief question - I had gas and air, pethidine and an epidural. Personally, I found the pethidine to be a waste of time but apparently its different for everyone.

Will let u know when i get pics posted, hope u r all well

Hey girls , hope u are all well ...

as some of you know, I had an appt on Tues 29th apr for a date to be induced.

That morning, I started getting pains in my stomach after my 2nd sweep, the day before. Went to Tesco before the hospital and couuld barely walk around because of the pain. Got to hospital at 9.15 am, they took one look at me and told me that I was in labour.

I was taken to a delivery room where I spent the next 26 hours .. bouncing on birthing balls, walking around and generally taking every form of pain relief on offer. I was already 4cm dilated when I got to hospital and my cervix really did not want to dilate any more. I was dilating at a rate of 1cm in 6 hours.

To cut a long story short, after 42 external stitches and an assisted forcep delivery, baby Harry was born at 6.05 am on 30 April, weighing 81b 12. He is the most precious thing.

Hi there,

Sounds like a long time in the delivery room!! Poor you. You must have done really well coping with it all.

So pleased for you and Harry is a lovely name. He was a good weight too.

Hope your stitches don't hurt too much. I'm on day 10 now and mine aren't so bad now but have no idea how many I had. Hospital gave me some diclofex pain killers that helped alot. Did you get any?

Good luck with the first few days. They seem long at the time but the last week for me has gone so quickly! Even though I've not even been out yet in the car - apart from a walk through the village with the pram.

Bye for now,
Anne and baby Hannah - 10 days old

Was wondering if anything had happened! Core thats a long time in labour and you are doing so well with so many stitches, Ive found them probably the worst thing about having baby, so uncomfortable, tight and sore eh!

Nice weight too! What pain relief did you have hun?

Cant wait to see some piccies!

Congratulations Jo!

i was wondering where you had got to....was keeping an eye out for any news as i knew something must be happening ;+)
Which type of pain relief did you find most effective?(looking at my options...)
Sounds like you were a long time in hospital waiting for cervix to dilate....it must have been torture, but all worth it when you met you little Harry x
Its my due date today and...... not a sausage (i love that saying!) got to go in on Sunday for more monitoring (sigh) they are keeping a close eye on me..

Take care,

Lou xx
