Hi ladies,

well although my time was not due here is my birth story! On thursday night at 11.30pm i woke up having what felt like mild contractions but i thought nothing of it until by 1am i was still up having contractions every 7 minutes, by 5am there were so intense i decided to wake up OH and have a bath! i just thought they'd ease and i could go back to bed! how wrong i was!

i eventually rang labour ward at 5.30am and went straight in on the monitor for 3 hours, having contractions every 4 minutes! Babys heartbeat was very slow and seemed to be in distress, they examined me and i was only 1.5 cm dilated but they said labour was imminent! i had to wait till 10am for a bed on delivery suite, they examined me again at 10.20am and broke my waters, i was already 9.5cm dilated and was ready to push! they couldnt give me any drugs as baby was very sleepy and heartbeat was slowing! at 11.13am baby HARLEY ELLA REES was born 5 weeks and 3 days early weighing 5 pounds 2.5 ounces! No gas and air or tears!

As we knew she had to have immediate attention for her gastroschisis the baby doctors came and took her straight away to the neonatal unit where we waited for transport to the childrens hospital for her op, shes had one op and is stable, i love her so much already!

what a pleasant surprise eh!

thanks for reading and best wishes to you all

proud new mummy laura to Baby girl Harley Ella Rees- 1 day old!

Gorgeous name too! You were very brave with the labour, thought of no gas and air brings a tear to my eye!
