in a sort of routine, we don't bath him every night but after about 7.30 we'll settle him in his moses basket and keep things quiet around the house, it does work as he gets off but just want him to sleep till 11 so i can feed him again! I spoketo my health visitor and she said she wouldnt have fed him at 4 either! Its just hard not to worry about him not getting enough. i might try his last feed at about 9.30 or something and settle him after that then i won't feel so bad if he does sleep through?! xx

Hi, Zac is 8 n a half weeks now and has been sleeping for about 7 hours at a time recently. Its normally from 7.30 to 2.30 in the morning so not ideal! as im still getting up but at least i know he's capable of going a longer stretch, i just need to push the time forward. The problem is i try feeding him at 10.30/11pm before we go to bed and the odd time i've managed it he has slept through till 5.30/6ish which is great but most of the time he just refuses to feed last thing at night as he's too sleepy. I've tried taking his gro off, tickling his cheeks, changing his nappy but he just purses his lips, any tips?! Last night though he slept from 7.30 and didn't wake at his normal time, so even though he didn't wake up for it i fed him at 4 while he was still asleep! and he did take it all. My OH said i should just leave him if he doesn't wake for a feed as one minute we're wanting him to sleep through then the next waking him up if he looks like going through. But last night i was too worried about him getting dehydrated as it was 9 hours since he'd fed and would have been more if he'd slept till the morning. If i could just get him to feed just before we go to bed, but if not would he be ok to go say 11 hours without a feed at his age?
Thanks Anne-Marie & Zac xx

I wouldnt have gave him the 4am feed last night. Dont worry bout him getting dehydration some babies sleep through from birth!
The thing that worked for Olivia was giving her some rusk before bed. And now she sleeps from 7.30pm to 7am some times 8am.
I know what you mean with dream feeding them Olivia doesnt really drink it either. Have you got him into a bit of a routine?? Like bath bottle and when hes ready bed?
Routine does help alot. But i know it took us a while to get the hang of it.
Hope this helps Take care Stacey & 18wk Olivia x x x
