"Thanks" Posted by lisad11 9 May at 13:11
for all the advice. i think i have discovered that she likes to sleep in her basket but doesn't like being left alone in the day. she will go down at 8pm upstairs alone and is fine but yest i put her basket down in the living room and she slept for about an hour in it. she's asleep at the mo in her pram as just came back from a walk so hoping things will pick up if not i'll just have to enjoy the cuddles
thanks again Lis and Isabella x

"Sleeping.." Posted by daiseyinfl79 9 May at 00:32
Hey,
My little one just turned 6 weeks old and the exact thing is happening with me. He use to sleep almost all day. Now he takes these 20-30 minute power naps and that is it! He sleeps great at night, but in the daytime, the only time he will sleep is if he is laying on my chest.. and then I try to lay him in his bassinet and he wakes up, and then I have to start all over again! I cant get anything done in the daytime because he is up the entire day! Ive been playing with him more, giving him more tummy time to try to tire him out some so he will nap more and not be so fussy. SO we will see how that works out. Good Luck!

"2 of my 4" Posted by 5reloaded5 8 May at 22:54
babies were like this and I'm afraid I never found an answer. I had to allow them to sleep on top of my chest and take the opportunity when they were there to have a nap myself as I couldn't do much else with a baby there. I knew it wasn't ideal and I knew I shouldn't but was desperate for them to have a sleep so relented. It passed with time as they got a bit bigger and maybe felt more secure in themselves to get off my body and nap in a cradle.

"Ben is the same" Posted by tinalw81 8 May at 12:16
and he is now 7 weeks old!! the hoover is great for getting him to sleep as is his chair swing. i used to pick him up every time he cried and i think i am paying for it already, (he is really heavy now!!)
i find that the more i get ben to sleep in the day the better he sleeps at night, try rocking her then putting her down just before she settles and stay in her sight until she drops off, or let her cry a bit, pick her up, quick cuddle then back down again, i started this last week with ben and it works sometimes!!!
i know it is difficult but people keep tewlling me it will get better!!
good luck
tina and ben

"Sling?" Posted by butterfly3333 8 May at 12:05
Hey Lisa what if you put Isabella in a sling and carried her around with you while you were doing your bits and pieces. Wonder would she sleep then as she is close to you and feels your contact. Just an idea. Im not too up on this as this is my 1st and I have it all ahead of me!lol
Good luck! Sharon 23+3wk pink bump xxx
