It is normal, after the initial bleeding the lochia goes brown for several days/weeks until it gradually goes. It can become red and slightly heavier if you start doing more exercise. This time I bled for nearly 4 weeks! The only time you should worry is if it is very smelly.

hi girls,

as i have just had bubz im finding that when im bleeding its all brown (sorry for tmi)but im just wondering if this is normal as i didnt have this problem in my last 2 pregnancies. i did have an infection after i had my c-section op and ive had my clips taken out but my cut is still open and hasnt properly healed. but my period is all brown discharge.

is this normal??

mine has started to turn brown now, u had ur baby before me too so i guess its normal.

Idid tell my mw that it was turning brown and she said thats fine.
