your braxton hicks intensifying as you get nearer date. The last few weeks can be so different from the rest of your pregnancy due to the increasing pressure. The reason I'm thinking it's not early labour is that you say you've been having this for 2 days but not that it's been getting worse over the 2 days. It's quite poss that these pains and feelings will be there for the next few weeks and you might start finding it far more difficult to walk as well. On the other hand, if you go early like your mum you'll get to miss all the really rotten stuff so that'd be good, eh? lol

Hope you're well, otherwise

this sounds silly i know but my mum had all her children and 37 weeks and i ma now 36 weeks pregnant and my midwife thinks i will be the same. i have been getting these weird bearing down pains over the past 2 days and cramps that are not regular but approximately every hour or so. im still feeling loads of baby movements so i know everything is ok with baby. my midwife also said that my baby is now fully engaged-does this all sound like i could be the early stages of labour???

Alot of womens BH get stronger and more painful towards the end. I personaly didnt really get them.

Its prob just your body starting to prepare yourself. Someone who i know had the pains your describing for weeks and she still went over by 4days. Also my best mate was fully engaged from 36wks and she went 12days over.

I had my little girl at 38wks. I didnt expect labour to happen until i got my bloody show then i knew things were happening. I did have a few strong pains for 2 days before but it was a constant ache and pressure so i think it was baby moving down. I was also only 3/5ths engaged on the day i was in labour and i had my little girl a few hours later.

She was in engaged from 34wks (4/5ths)

Try to relaxe about it all.

Take care
