Just a quick post to let you know i have had my little girl 'Lottie Ann' on Wednesday 7th May at 7:36pm weighing 5 pounds and 4 oz!! She was 4 days overdue and a little small but not enough for her to have to go to special care....although we had to stay in for her blood sugar levels to be monitored...

I had contractions from midnight the day before i was due to be induced! then i went in on Wednesday morning at 8am and they gave me a gel pessary to make contractions stronger and closer together as they were keen to get her out.....well it was all very fast...contractions came very strong and soon i was in labour suite pacing the room on gas and air.....i felt like i was going to faint with the heat and eventually gave in to a mobile epidural which was fantastic....i had my waters broke and i was 5cm dilated and then like some miracle 2 minutes later i was 10!! and i felt the urge to push...they told me to hold on and i felt like i needed a big poo (TMI) and then the heart beat was up and down and they had to get the baby out fast so legs went up in stirrups, i had an episiotomy (without me knowing until i saw how many stiches i was getting afterwards!) and forcepts delivery...only 20 minutes of pushing and she was out!...placenta took 30 seconds!

Good luck to you all and will still be on the site to talk to all the new mummies and ask for advice (ps breast feeding is harder than i thought!!)

Lou & Lottie (3 days old) xx

and her mum. Congratulations. Love your baby's name. Sounds like your labour was not bad at all. Try to stick out the bfeeding. Before you know it you'll be able to do it with your eyes shut.

Hi Just wanted to say well done and love the name Lottie.

Perserve with the breast feeding as it gets a lot easier but get the right support with it.
