"My labour story - at long last!"

I had my daugther Aimee six weeks ago and I just haven't got round to telling my story so at last here it is!
On 30th March (Sun) I was booked in to be induced as I was 10 days overdue. Got to hospital for 10 in morning and all preparation was done i.e bloods, internals etc. My cervix was favourable so my waters were broke at 5pm.
Started having really strong contractions by 5.30pm at which point I had been taken to the delivery room. Started using gas and air (fantastic stuff)and quickly went from 2cm to 4cm not long after I arrived in delivery room.
From here on I don't remember very much except my mum arriving because I was so out of it. Do remember how much pain I was in and couldn't bear it any longer so asked for pethadine around 8.30pm.
Pethadine had little effect so continued with gas and air.
Eventually around 10.30pm, I asked for epidural. Was much more relaxed once I'd had this, contractions were much easier to bear.
However, Aimee's heartrate started to slow and I'd gone back to being 2cm dilated, so after some discussion they decided to do a c-section.
Was really scared by now and was taken off to theatre. Only my partner was allowed in with me and at 12.14am on 31st March (Mon), Aimee was born.
