My mother just wont STOP and he's not even here yet!
Ive told her not to as he'll probably never going to get to wear them and and she said " Yes he will Im knitting clothes for him for when he's 9-12mnths"!!!!! and her words "He WILL wear them".
So this poor little fella has stuff like vile cable knit clothes from new born till hes aleast one! and I know whats going to come next....Christmas jumpers which christmas scenes..OMFG!! what am Im going to do. She's even knitted him a RUG for the nursery..how can you knit a F-ing rug???

I have told her not to knit any thing else, saying by the sounds of things he's got plenty, so save your money and dont buy any more wool, but will she listen..NO!

So I know that there all going to to a charity shop or in the bin and its a shame because its all such waste of money.

And I KNOW for a FACT that there will be World War III when the wee man arrives because I can see me upsetting both sides of the family. With "I know best attitude" Im 33yrs.. I think I know how to change a nappy! and my mother seems to think shes going to be with me when I give birth!!,doesnt matter that theres a 3hr drive between us and my hubby's family are only an hour away and they seem to think they can come across when they like!! so Hubby's on strict instructions not to phone folk until after he's here and not to come for at least two days

The trial and tribulations of expectent mothers!!

Hugs
Mrs Moo xx

Ahhh the do gooders...I know they mean well but..arrrghh. See I would have a problem with the knitted mat...could you not put it down for a couple of days to please her, let her see it and then spill something over it so thats the end of it!lol As for the clothes...baby might have an alergy to wool!!!

I would be very independant...my family and DHs would know this as Im not behind the door in expressing my opinions at times!lol Its soo hard to bite my tongue...but I do try as I know they are only trying to be nice....I listen, but if I didnt agree with something then I would say so!lol My mum hasnt expressed an interest to be in with me during labour, dont think that would be her thing to be honest...but I did make it clear from the beginning that I didnt want a palavah of people only me and DH..all being well. As for people calling after babs is born...you will be upstairs feeding most of the time..and the sight of an exposed (.)(.) might keep them at bay!lol

big hugs...Sharon 25wks today...pink bump xx

cos mines doesn't, just tells everyone to come and if hospital is enforcing 2 visitor policy then I'm afraid that as the mum it's my own family I want to see not in laws. When I had no 3 my dad and sis got made to wait till other visitors had left, 2 of his sis and 2 neices for fk sake. My sis ended up having to leave and I was mad as I had managed to have Jude on her birthday and she shoulda seen him before his family but they were calling him 'can we visit' and he's going 'yeah of course' Shoulda said my 3rd but his 1st and at the time I barely knew his family as we lived pretty far from them and I didnt see much of them.
When Charlie was born last year he said yes to every visitor who asked even if 3 different parties per day!!! His workmates and family etc. And one o his sis was coming with her daughter and 2 grandchildren and he said better go to the shop to get stuff to make them a nice dinner. Well I nearly killed him and try to explain that this is one time your visitors tend to you and sure enough when they came in they asked if they could do some ironing and stuff as there women and they get it, even if he doesn't.
I love wee knitted stuff but does sound a bit overkill. I only ever wanted my mum when I went into labour and she was in for the first 3. By no 3 I was in my 30s and bit more grown up and all she did was pull the drip out my arm repeatedly so she never got asked back to no 4 but when I was younger having babies I jsut wanted mum.
Everyone knows whats best for your baby, spesh when its no 1. I think its the same for everyone and you just try to surf through it without any major fall outs. I just say well things have changed since you had your babies last century and that shuts them up and to make it sound sweeter I add they've even changed since I had my first. Ha
