"Hi" Posted by byrne4 21 May at 12:39
All my boys have been born with loads of jet black hair and with all of their pregnancies I have had heartburn from day one. I never normally get heartburn and when I fell preggers with my 3rd (a bit of a surprise) I joked to my hubby that Oh no I have heartburn I expect I am pregnant!! Low and behold a couple of days later there was the big fat blue line on the pregnancy test.
With this pregnancy I have had heartburn since day one. I had a friend who had servere heartburn on one of her pregnacies and her little boy didnt have a single hair on its head. Like most people. I agree that its just a myth.
Hope everyone is well

Hey Shell....I have been woke up a few times over the last week with terrible heartburn while in bed...its like acid creaps up from my tummy up my throat...ewwww. Gaviscon is a lifesaver. Oooohhh I wonder does this mean babs will have hair...I was very fair with hardly any hair when I was born, while DH was dark with a tuft of black hair...so cute! tc Sharon 25+1wk pink bump xxx

"Mucogel" Posted by 5reloaded5 20 May at 12:23
This is what you get off my MW. It's absolutely vile and drinking it is far worse than having heartburn. I have to get the Gaviscon from the GP, which is fine as you dont need appt, just keep putting a repeat px in. And another thing, if anyone is going to get induced take some Gaviscon in your bag. You'll need your usual amount as you normally have to hang around for quite some time and when you ask the nurses for it you get a tiny winy measured dose and normally the poorer quality slightly better than Mucogel stuff. Having had so many pg's and diff babies first one baldy some with loadsa hair one normal the heartburn theory is nonsense as is the theories about carrying high, low, round the back, all to front etc. I've been every way poss an have 4, probably 5, sons with all their different hairs, shapes and pregnancies. Sorry, I'm sick o being told these theories by everyone who comments to me.

My heartburn started really late as well - just when I thought I'd escaped! I really sympathise but I'm afraid I have no useful suggestions for coping with it. Hope it does mean junior's going to have lots of hair!

"Hey there.." Posted by spurgie 20 May at 12:21
....hi girls
my heartburn started quite late in my pregnancy too, about 30 weeks i think and then it was a killer! my midwife asked my doc for a prescription for gaviscon liquid, but he gave me peptac. seemed to do the trick tho!!
my bub had loads of hair when he was born so maybe there is some truth in it?!
love to all mums, bumps, beans and babies kelly and oliver, 14 weeks 4 days xxx
