You are absolutely entitled to change hospitals, just tell your midwife and she will arange this. Remember it's your body, your baby and your choice so don't be told you can't do it.

I have a friend who was in labour and went to her choosen hospital - she was not happy with the treatment she recieved there so her husband went and told the staff they were going to another hospital. he stepped outside - rang the other hospital and off they went! Her baby came 2 hours later in the other hospital!

When I had my daughter 4 months ago I booked a home birth, a hospital birth and a birthing centre birth - I chose where I wanted to be when the time came and actually did all 3!

Good luck

Does anyone know how to go about changing hospitals once you have already registered with one? Am 30 weeks pregnant but have just read really awful recent reports on our planned maternity unit and really want to change - just not sure if this is possible/ how to go about doing this? Also if it isn't easy to do, has anyone been in same situation and just 'turned up' at a different hospital once you were in labour, on the pretense of visitng friends in the local area?! Thanks x
