Hi Debs,
Home made Mayo may have raw eggs (as already said), but shop purchesed hasn't, so is fine to eat!!!
Good luck with everything,

I think its because home made mayo you make yourself and it contains eggs, which you arent recommended to eat when pregnant anyway and theres a risk of salemenella (probably spelt awful!) I think basically if you buy shop bought you know all the worry that the eggs arent cooked properly goes out the window and its safe whereas theres a risk when you make it yourself!

that's risky, shop bought is made with pasteurised eggs which carry no risk of salmonella, it'll say on the jar that the eggs are pasteurised, same with shop bought coleslaw so both are fine. Don't even understand why they still tell you not to eat runny eggs as most brands these days have the lion stamp which means the chickens have been vaccinated against salmonella, I've had runny eggs a few times since I've been pregnant (love them so couldn't resist!) with no ill effects. Hope that helps,

love, Clare 17 weeks today! xxx
