Hi girls i have my scan booked in at the Birmingham Womens hosp and they said on the phone that they like to scan between 10-11 weeks, I always thought it was around 12 weeks,
anyone else had there scan this early i will be 10+2? Also Im not sure how much I will see? Also should we tell people as we were going to wait till the usual 12 weeks post m/c risk (I have had 2 previous m/c's so wanted to be sure at 12 weeks)?
feeling a bit anxious about the weeks following the scan, ie is there still a risk of miscarraige?
any ideas, thanks girls, I know Im probably getting anxious for no reason, Rach xxx 9+1

Hi Rach
I had my early dating scan at the Womens hospital too and it was at 9+6! You will be amaxed at how much you will see just make sure you take 4 x £1 coins to get the scan photo. Be prepared for a wait too, they were heaving when I went with signs everywhere saying they had a staff shortage
I told everybody as soon as I knew I was pregnant, just couldn't keep it in.

i have had 3 scans already and i am only 7 weeks and 4 days!! i thought i was 8 weeks and 4 days but my last scan yesterday told me i was 7 and 3. we also heard the heartbeat too it was soo cool the doc turned it up really loud!!!!! my first scan was because we had the most stupidest doc i have ever seen and she sent me for a scan for no reason at all when i was 4 weeks :| so OBV they wernt guna see anything but then of course she said it cud be ectopic so we got dead scared but turns out everythings ok
i didnt know u after u hear the heartbeat u can start telling people? does that mean there is less chance of miscarrige even at 7 weeks? xxxxx

I had an early scan at Good Hope Hospital when I was about 7wks + 5. All you could see was this little pulsating peanut (hence why we nicknamed it peanut till we knew what we were having) I had an early dating scan as I had no idea at all when my last period was, all I knew was that I was pregnant. My Doc managed to wangle it for me to get in ASAP. They say that once you can see the heartbeat you are ok to tell people (because the first time most people see the heartbeat is at the 12 week scan, that's why people say they wait until after the first 12 wk scan)
I then paid for another dating scan at BabyBond in Bridgnorth (they have just opened one in Kings Norton) and had this done at 9 weeks to see if they gave me the same dates as Good Hope (they did) I then had a normal 12 week scan from Good Hope, 20 Week scan from Good Hope, 4D Scan from Mums in Solihull (private) and on Saturday a presentation scan at BabyBond (private again) to check position of baby.
Good luck with the scan, will keep my fingers crossed for you.
Love Jen 35 weeks x x

I went to MUMS in solihull for a scan at 7 weeks just to put my mind at rest and for a Nuchal Translucency scan last week. It was absolutely amazing, it lasted 45 mins and they check everything and even show you the blood flow into and out of the heart and through the cord. You can also hear the blood flow.
Worth every single penny.

Hey Rach, I had my scan at 10+2 this time. Thought I was 11+2 but they put me back a week by the scan measurements. You will be surprisd how much you see though, still looks very much like a baby, just pretty small. Had my scan at 13 weeks with my first baby, but there wasnt much difference to be honest, just a little more detail at 13 weeks.
I also felt like that, as I had m/c only the month before this one was conceived so very scared of sharing the news, but once I'd seen baby on the scan couldnt hold it in any longer. Sonographer said once you have seen baby's heartbate and registered movement, there is a massive decrease in the risk of m/c so that put my mind to rest. Hope it all goes well for you, Im sure you have nothing to worry about, just enjoy it!
Hugs Lisa n lively lady bump 30w x
