"Hey hun" Posted by lulu4786 17 June at 11:39
Just wanted to say try and take it easy until thursday, like everyone else said brown blood is old blood.
As for internal scans they arent anything to worry about, i usually have my scans this way because the scarring on my stomach gets in the way of them scanning the baby properly.
Let us know how you get on on thursday.
TC, Lu xx

Try not to get upset honey..its more common than you think.
and like the girls said,if its brown blood with mucus its more than likely old blood from the cervix or may be implant bleeding. Just take it easy and rest.

"Brown = old ..." Posted by jbeaumont1 17 June at 11:26
which is a good sign!! I had bleeding at 5-8 weeks, just a little when I wiped after going to the toilet!!! I was in panic mode!!! I had an early scan, and they couldn't find a reason!!! They do an internal scan if they can not see anything in the normal scan!!! To have to go to the toilet to empty your bladder, then lay legs astride on the bed!! It feels a little like a smear test, and is uncomfortable, but not painful (I've had about 5)!!! Best of luck on Thursday, please let us all know how it goes on Thursday!!! Best of luck, my fingers are crossed for you, Janice xxx.

firstly try not to worry brown blood is old blood and could literally be an implant bleed or some old blood thats been moved from your cervix area, an internal scan isnt as bad as it sounds they have what looks like a vibrator that they put a condom on with some gel and it gets a brilliant picture of inside the womb at your stage it doesn;t hurt but may be slightly uncomfotable, try to relax and let us know how you get on xxx

nothing much to add to what the other girls have said but I had this twice before 12 weeks with this pregnancy and it turned out to be nothing with me either. I had a scan at the EPU at about the same stage as you and didn't have to have an internal, just a normal scan and everything was fine, baby had a good strong heartbeat and they couldn't offer any real explanation for the bleeding. Same as the other girls they said it was probably implantation or just a bit of old blood, there's often little pockets of blood in the womb which get dislodged as the baby grows. Know it's really hard not to worry, I was convinced the worst was happening and got myself in a right state but it really is probably nothing to worry about. Got everything crossed for you for thursday, look after yourself in the meantime and let us know how you get on.
Lotsa love, Clare 19+2 xxx

and if no more comes out between now and the scan then you'll be fine. I've had this in more than one pregnancy and I must say I think it's disgraceful that you have to wait for a scan as I was sent to Daycare immediately and they know it's prob just old blood passing but understand that you need something tangible to put you're mind at rest. Fingers and all crossed for you
