Hi,
I put both my babies to sleep straight into the cot in their own dark room as soon as they got home from hospital, with rolled up towels on either side to give them a 'snug' feel, and a breathing monitor to give me peace of mind. Worked really well, and no transition problems as there was no transition....I would not wait too long if I were you, and from experience no matter what position you put them in, by the time you take them out they are in a completly different one....

I put my son straight into the cot from 4days old, set at the top level, and when he was able to sit up moved it to the lower level, which was about 6mths.
Grow bags are a very good idea, as my son wiggles all round the cot when he sleeps, and hates blankets.

i put my twins straight in a cot from birth-no way i was buying 2 moses baskts and 2 cots! they slept one at either end(we were short on space at the time and couldnt put them both up).
they should be in the 'feet to foot' position-feet at the bottom of the bed, this prevents them from wriggling down under the covers.

Freddy is nearly 4 months and he's still in his moses basket in my room. I cant put him in his cot at night yet, im such a wimp!! Ill prob put him there at 6 months. Some ppl put them there straight away, some a lot later. My neighbour has 4 children and they all went into their cots at 1 year!! Maybe a bit late. No rush tho. Lots of love Becky and Freddy x x

daughter went into her cot at 5 weeks, place her feet at the bottom, and I put Eleanor in a grow bag, there is no way that she can wriggle under the covers then!

im really struggling with this one. every time i put oliver in his cot, its absolute carnage. he just will not sleep for more than 2 or 3 hours at a time. his moses basket has been in his cot for about 2 months and i have tried putting him in there for daytime naps, which are fine, but when it comes to the night...........!!
grrrrrr. he has his gro bag and i give him his bunny that he takes to bed, but doesnt make any difference, i dont think he likes the open feeling of it. tried the crib first as a kind of half way house, but he screamed the house down in that too.
i have put him back in his moses and will try again in couple of weeks!!
hope all mums, bumps, beans and babies are doing well. love kelly and oliver, 18 weeks 5 days xx

some people put baby straight into a cot, but alot of us use a moses basket/crib/carrycot whilst they're small before putting them into the cot.
I once thought I'd never know what I was doing, but it really does come to you, and feel free to ask for advice from any of the ladies on here! Everyone is happy to help!
