Hi I use movicol, it's prescription so ok when pregnant, you just mix a sachet with water and drink one morning and night or more or less as needed
Good luck

about laxatives bringing on labor? Is this something I can try or is it as silly as the castor oil thing which only results in you feeling unwell?

Prune juice. I swear by prune juice, and I actually like drinking the stuff and as for the water melon..its all the water and the seeds that make you go, don't be suprized if you see undigested seeds in the loo. They just help the poo move through.
