Hi all,

I went to the docs the other day and moaned about my hips back and groin pain - they said to take paracetamol. i just been reading Pregnancy and Birth and theres a story in there with a girl who has SPD.

Just wondered if any one that has it can tell from my symptoms if it sounds like i have anything similar...

I have:

Really bad lower back
hip pain so bad that at night i can only lay on one side before having to turn and when i wake up after a period its excruciating pain..
feels like i been riding a horse..

???

Sammie xx

I only had SPD mildly but i had the symptoms you have just been describing so id say that it is probs SPD. Depending on how far on you are you can get the pains and discomfort when the baby begins to drop into the pelvis (thats what happend with me). There really isnt much that can be done about it really appart from keeping a good posture and being careful getting out of chairs ect and generally taking it slowly!

hope this helps.

i jus did some reading on SPD and it says that it can start around the middle of ur pregnancy so i think its worth getting checked out also the symptoms u wrote about are exactly the symptoms it has..

Hope u feel better soon.
