hi girls. Carlos is now 9 weeks and since yesterday he hasnt had a dirty nappy im worried that something might be wrong. is it normal for them to not pass any poop (sorry tmi. the only thing i have done different is give him s26 gold in bottle last night to try him out but im still breastfeeding him. im only trying to give him 1 bottle at night before bedtime. but since i gave him it he hasnt done anything in his nappy and im worried. if nothing changes til tomorrow i will ring health nurse and ask.

but is it normal for this to happen to babies if they are on formula???

It is possible that the formula has made Carlos a bit constipated. It is quite different to the breastmilk so he would find it harder to digest. I'm sure he'll do a poo soon! Beware the smell!! It's quite a shock after breastfed poo!!

It may help to give him some cooled boiled water to help things through and maybe leave giving him another bottle til you know he's ok?

Lots of love Trace and Jessica (17weeks)

on formula don't poo as often as bf babies, but I'm sure it's nothing to worry about, it hasn't been 24hrs yet, if concerned ring your HV.
