"Constipation"
Posted by lilacbreeze 28 June  at  12:59

I suffered terribly in my first 2 pregnancies. When I got put on Iron tablets it made it worse. I remember I was eating bran flakes till they were coming out me ears! Horrible. You have my sympathies.
This pregnancy I haven't had constipation and in fact I have to be careful as I get trots if something don't agree with me.
One thing I will say in both pregnancies I ended up with piles cos of the constipation. It's good that you've got something to take as beleive me you don't want piles!! They are HORRIBLE.
Unfortunately if you are constipated it will make you feel sluggish and horrible. I hope you are ok now and keep with the stuff you've been given at chemist and beware of them piles!!!

Hey Lea...I had the constipation. I eat at least 3 portions of fruit a day, bran flakes in morn and drink OJ and bottles of water. Its important with constipation to drink plenty of water to help flush you out, also helps prevent urinary tract infections.
Tiredness is common in early pregnancy, I used to power nap for half an hour so I could get my bits done afterwards. Sometimes I had no energy to fight it and just had to take to my bed early in the evening at 8pm and slept the whole way through to the morning!lol My body must just have needed it!lol

thanks for the reassurance, I like to know I'm normal!
Yeah the feeling is like I've been drinking a lot of wine the night before, I wish!
Feel just a bit dizzy, weak and tired.

Oh the joys, but on top of all that am very very happy and know its all worth it!

All sounds normal to me. I was badly constipated at the beginning of this pregnancy but seemed to disappear after a few weeks. Like you I felt soooooo tired all of the time (and still do now) and I looked awful aswell. How anyone never guessed that I was in the early stages of pregnancy I will never know.

This is my 5th baby and all my pregnancies have been different even though this baby will be my 5th boy aswell.

Congrats on your pregnancy

Take care

That sounds about right.....I bet the sickness is just around the corner too. How do you mean you feel dreadful - do you mean sick or just a general off-ness? (I likened it to feeling a bit hungover?)

I've not really had sore boobs at all and I'm with you on the constipation front, it's awful I just eat loads of fruit and drink loads of water and that seems to help!

I also seemed to develop the same bedtime as most 7 year olds til about 15 weeks. Seriously, I'd go to bed and hear kids playing outside!

I hope you're doing OK hun (feeling rubbish aside), sounds like it's coming along nicely, yay!!

Hi Sweets,

I go' do my stuff' at least 4 times per week. You should eat prunes ( be careful though they make u 'go' straight away), bread with cereal grains , Weetabix- hmm I luv those and fruits I've been eating watermelons and cantalopues and don't forget to drink water... Water and bananas help alot
It's no use forcing yourself to eat all of this everyday but you should do so freguently.

I'm living abroad and they do not recommend laxatives not even the 'safe' ones.Ask your doctor if it's really safe, if it is don't abuse.

Enjoy your pregancy !!!!!!!!!!!
