hi i'm new just looking for some general information
i'm 24 never been pregnant before. i was late for my contracetive injection and was asked to do a pregnancy test. the results of the test came back positive. but i was slightly unsure of being pregnant so i went and bought a test of my own. both tests (one done last night, and one done first thing this morning)came back negative.
after speaking to my doctor they would like me to do another urine test. basically the information i'm looking for is if the tests i bought might be wrong or if the doctors one could be? and if i'm pregnant or not

Hi, I agree with the previous post. You could get a blood test done to be sure. Good luck!

Hi,
Urine tests performed at home or at the doctor's office have a similar success rate- namely, 99% accurate at correctly detecting a positive result after the day your period is due. Blood tests are more accurate still and may show results as early as a couple of days after conception.
Therefore, if your first test at your doctor's was a blood test, I'd say trust that one over your home tests. If they were all urine tests, they all stand an approximately equal chance at being right so sounds like it would be a good idea to re-test. Keep in mind that positive results are more likely to be correct than a negative result when using a urine test.
