| Thread started by: | "Possibly tmi and hard to explain....... " Posted by debra50 12 July at 11:20
I'm 23 weeks pregnant and for the past few weeks have felt what feels like pressure down below. It feels like just after I gave birth to my son, but without burning etc from stiches, more of an ache like you feel when you have done a workout. Its really hard to explain and was wonderin if anyone else had experienced this.
I dont have a big bump and havn't put on hardly any weight so I cant see it being extra pressure from weight.
Do you think it cud maybe be my muscle's (if there are any down there!!) preparing for birth, am soooo confused, not seen my mdwife for a few weeks so not mentioned it to her, but to be honest she isnt approachable at the best of times!!
Thanks debs xxx

i had this with my first baby, but not until about 33weeks, the midwife took a look and it turned out to be Varicose veins around the 'front bottom'! i know, nice thought, she told me it not neccessarily from pressure but from the blood supply being trapped, possibly from baby lying on certain areas. I am now 11 weeks and have it again, i guess its started earlier this time as its 2nd baby. Let me know if you get yourself checked out. x

i would go and ge it checked-i would leave anything i was un happy about.
im gonna sound really horrible and sound like im trying to scare you but im not....my friend complained on having 'pressure' down there for a few weeks when she was about your gestation.
anyway she had an infection and because it went un diagnosed her waters went and her little girl was delivered at 26 wks. unfortunantly she only lived 2 days-bless her.
im not saying the same will happen to you but you really do have to keep nagging if there is something your not happy with
could be nothing and just your muscles like you said. cant really help with what else it might be??

I must admit it does seem to be easing off and isnt there all the time, just when i sit down for a long time or when i get out of bed. My post wasnt very specific, but it is more the perineum (think thats how u spell it!!) region. Where i had stiches with my first. And its not a stinging like something is infected, more of an ache. I've experienced the same before when having a heavy period, hope this makes more sense, if anyone else out there has experienced the same.
Thanks again
