Aaaaaaagh I am just SO pi**ed off its untrue!!
My doc surgery called me back further to my appointment with the nurse and the hospital have said that they will not do a dating scan - they will scan me routinely at 13-14 weeks. Fine, but how do they know when that is if I don't have a clue how many weeks pregnant I am.
She said there is nothing she can do as I am not having any problems, the GP won't refer me straight to the EPAU so all the nurse is able to do is to send off my maternity booking form and hope that the hospital get back to me soon with a scan date, but she said to expect it to be sometime in late September. We are going on holiday in September and I want to know before then!! I am so mad.
Surely I have a right to know how far gone I am or am I just being selfish here?!! It annoys me you pay tax and National Insurance for an NHS that is meant to be there when you need medical assistance of any kind and now I need a 5 min scan to confirm the length of my pregnancy, they won't do it. I am seething!!!
RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGHHH
Love to all Mums, bumps, beans and babies.

Have enclosed the link to the Anti-natal care guidelines - may give you some leaverage with bringing the scan forward if you quote it at them, says that they should offer you a gestational age scan at 10-13 weeks.

It's rubbish that they won't help you.
Now, not that I condone any kind of underhand behaviour, couldn't you leave it a week or two and then say you've been getting some pains? They will want to scan to rule out ectopic pregnancy, and they will be able to date your pregnancy at the same time. Just an idea; I know some others who have done that.
Your other option I suppose is to pay privately for a scan though I'm not sure h9ow much it is.
Best of luck!

Thanks ladies
I have made enquiries regarding a private scan and am waiting for the local private hospital to get back to me with a price.
I think I am just going to lie and say that now I have thought about it, I did have a bleed which was probably a period back in May and so presumably I should be dated from then. Strictly speaking it isn't a lie cos I did have, but it only lasted a couple of hours if that, so I assumed it was just my body doing weird stuff after having Oliver!!
Love to all Kelly xxx
