Hi Everyone,

Im having a membrane sweep tomorrow. Does anyone have any first hand experience of this? Does it work? how long does it take to work. Feeling very fed up of waiting, i'm really hoping this will do the trick.

It says in my 'midwife/pregnancy book that they will book the induction tomorrow as well.Do you think i'll have my baby before 42 weeks (next monday)

Hope you all doing ok.

Catherine

did with both of their children.
They said it was uncomfortable, but the sweep did work for them and they where fortunate to go into labour on their own and not have any stitches.
"H" was literally within 48hrs and "G" was a bit longer.

Hope this helps

I had a sweep at 1pm on the Thursday, first contraction was at 3pm that very same day but didn't go into hospital until the early hours of Sunday morning and gave birth Sunday teatime! The day before I was due to be induced....you hear of this quite regularly!!!!
All the best, you are about to go through the most amazing thing ever!!!!

ive never had a sweep myself but my 2 sis in laws and a good friend all had them and they didnt appear to do anything

different for everyone but i have to say i think its a case of they come when they are ready not because someone is having a poke!lol

you never know though so good luck just think next monday is the longest you have to wait for something to definatly be done.

5 failed sweeps and 2 successful inductions with 1 lot of gel i think it totally depends on if your body is ready and how good your midwife is lol good luck!
